The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council designated the month of July as Hot Dog Month.

This year, Wednesday, July 19, was also designated at National Hot Dog Day.

The first National Hot Dog Day was established in 1991 to coincide with a hot dog lunch held on Capitol Hill every year on the third Wednesday of July.
