The Story Behind Bad Company’s ‘Bad Company’

The remaining founding members of Free didn’t have much going for them back in 1973 after the group split. Drummer Simon Kirke headed off to South America. Paul Rodgers, looking for something to do, met up with guitarist Mick Ralphs who’d left Mott the Hoople. When Kirke returned, he was part of a new band. Then the guys set out to find a bassist and compose a theme song.
