Little Richard’s influence was far-reaching. Artists like The Beatles, The Kinks, Bob Dylan, Scorpions, Elvis, CCR, Jerry Lee Lewis and The Everly Brothers have all named Little Richard as an influence on their music.
“Prince is the Little Richard of his generation,” Richard told Joan Rivers in 1989, before looking at the camera and addressing Prince. “I was wearing purple before you was wearing it!”
