The project’s official announcement describes the collaboration as a response to suffering, displacement, and public indifference. Miari added new Arabic lyrics and melodies, while Waters contributed additional English verses focused on human rights and the value of every life.

Titled Comfortably Numb Re-Imagined, the recording changes the original refrain into a refusal to become numb to events unfolding around the world. Its arrangement uses piano, strings, percussion, and layered vocals instead of recreating the familiar sound of Pink Floyd’s 1979 recording.

An accompanying film combines studio scenes with black-and-white footage captured in Gaza. Proceeds from the release will support urgent aid provided by the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.

Waters said he hopes listeners will eventually view the song as prophetic. Miari has described the collaboration as a way to share the experiences of her people through music.

During the 17-song show at Grant Park, the band welcomed Yungblud for Luna, a track from the 1993 album Siamese Dream. The British singer had performed his own festival set earlier that evening and described the collaboration onstage as a dream come true.

Later in the performance, Billy Corgan introduced Olivia Rodrigo as a special guest. She joined the group for Thirty-Three, with Corgan accompanying her on acoustic guitar. The song originally appeared on the band’s 1995 double album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.

The set also included longtime favorites such as 1979, Disarm and Tonight, Tonight, alongside newer material.

Former touring bassist Melissa Auf der Maur returned for the closing song, The Everlasting Gaze. Her appearance added another connection to the band’s past and completed a headline performance built around its history, current lineup and influence on younger artists.

Event organizers said more than 200 guests attended the evening, held at the home of philanthropists Bob and Lauren Day Roberts. Stewart performed a full concert featuring songs including Have I Told You Lately, Forever Young and The First Cut Is the Deepest.

Van Zandt later joined Stewart onstage for Stay With Me and We’re Having a Party. The event also included a live auction offering private dinners with Stewart, Van Zandt and other entertainment figures.

The fundraiser gave the nonprofit additional support for expanding its classroom programs while bringing two longtime rock performers together for an education-focused cause.

Cameron said producer and engineer Joe Barresi is handling the mixing process. The surviving members of Soundgarden, Cameron, guitarist Kim Thayil and bassist Ben Shepherd, completed the recordings with longtime collaborator Terry Date. Several tracks developed from demos exchanged between Cameron and Cornell around 2013 and 2014.

Cornell, who died in 2017, is credited as a songwriter on all eight tracks. His existing vocal recordings were used as the foundation while the band finished the instrumental arrangements and production.

The album has been in development for several years. Work was delayed by a legal dispute involving Cornell’s estate, which was resolved in 2023 and allowed the musicians to continue completing the material.

No title or release date has been announced. The band plans to finish the mixes before deciding how and when the album will be released.

Universal announced that Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness will open at Universal Orlando Resort on August 28, followed by Universal Studios Hollywood on September 3. The attraction will draw from more than four decades of Osbourne’s solo career, combining recognizable music, album imagery and the dark visual style closely linked to his stage persona.

Developed with the Osbourne family, the haunted houses will guide visitors through scenes shaped by his songs and long-running connection to horror-inspired entertainment. The project also supports a wider licensing program designed to introduce Osbourne-themed experiences and products in international markets.

A limited-edition collection of clothing and collectibles is expected to launch alongside the attraction. The collaboration adds a major music name to Universal’s seasonal event, which regularly builds haunted houses around horror films, television series and popular entertainment properties.

The milestone was confirmed as the 1978 track continued attracting new listeners decades after its original release. It is now Queen’s second music video to enter YouTube’s Billion Views Club, following “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

“Don’t Stop Me Now” first appeared on the album Jazz and was written by Freddie Mercury. Although the song was not one of the band’s biggest chart hits when it was released, its popularity grew steadily over time through films, television, advertising, streaming, and social media.

The track remains known for its fast pace, piano-driven arrangement, and energetic vocal performance. Its continued success online reflects Queen’s ability to reach listeners across several generations.

The 1 billion-view mark also adds to the band’s strong presence on digital platforms, where its catalog continues to perform well worldwide.

Organizers confirmed that Saheem Ali will direct, with a stage book by Peter Duchan and choreography by Ebony Williams. Jason Michael Webb will oversee musical supervision, arrangements and orchestrations. Prince collaborators Bobby Z and Morris Hayes will serve as music advisers. Casting will be announced later.

The musical follows The Kid, a young Minneapolis performer balancing a difficult home life, a rival band and a developing romance. The stage production will feature more than 20 Prince songs, including Purple Rain, When Doves Cry, I Would Die 4 U and The Beautiful Ones.

The Broadway engagement follows an earlier version of the musical that premiered in Minneapolis in 2025. The new production continues the stage adaptation’s connection to Prince’s music while introducing the familiar story to a new theater audience.

The public invitation included several possibilities. Hagar suggested that Roth could sing a few songs, introduce the show, or simply join the celebration. He also praised Roth for continuing to perform Van Halen material and helping keep the band’s music in front of longtime fans.

The gesture is notable because the two singers have shared a complicated relationship for decades. Roth fronted Van Halen during the band’s original rise, while Hagar joined after Roth’s departure in 1985. Their disagreements continued even when they toured together in 2002.

Hagar’s September residency features former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony alongside guitarist Joe Satriani, drummer Kenny Aronoff, and keyboardist Rai Thistlethwayte. Roth has not publicly responded to the invitation.

At the event, organizers recognized both men for their work connected to civil rights and civil liberties. Kaepernick spoke about the importance of protecting education, dignity, and the rights of future generations. The ceremony also acknowledged the professional and personal consequences he faced after protesting police violence and racial inequality during his NFL career.

Springsteen was honored for his long record of using music and public appearances to address social and political issues. He closed the ceremony with a solo performance of Streets of Minneapolis, bringing the evening to a quiet musical finish.

Actress and activist Laverne Cox hosted the event. The award takes its name from writer Ralph Ellison, whose work examined race, identity, and American society.

The ceremony brought together figures from music, sports, and entertainment while focusing on civic participation and the defense of constitutional freedoms.

The publication also reports that the album entered the Billboard 200 at No. 7 with 53,000 equivalent album units. The debut gives the band its 39th Top 10 album on the chart, extending its record for the most Top 10 albums in Billboard 200 history.

Foreign Tongues also reached the Top 10 on several additional album rankings, including charts focused on vinyl sales, rock music and alternative music. The results reflect continued demand for the band’s new releases across both physical and streaming formats.

Released on July 10, the album follows the band’s 2023 studio release, Hackney Diamonds. It includes new recordings, appearances by guest musicians and a track featuring late drummer Charlie Watts.

The album has also performed strongly outside the United States, reaching No. 1 in the United Kingdom and matching another long-standing chart milestone there.
