There are some pretty messed up stories in rock and roll history—from Iggy Pop getting injured at Max’s Kansas City in 1973 and spurting blood on the audience to Keith Moon literally overdosing on stage, to a Rolling Stones concert turning into an actual Hells Angels brawl. But, you know, these days rock and roll has kind of mellowed out. It’s the music of parents and well-behaved hipsters.
In this era, Dave Grohl has positioned himself as the fun uncle of rock and roll, and is charged with keeping the spirit of the genre alive. As such, he’s prone to occasional onstage accidents, like when he broke his leg during a 2015 Foo Fighters concert in Sweden, and returned to finish the show (which, to be honest, is pretty rock and roll).
